  • So I'm finally 21.

    And I'm in the library doing hw due tomorrow. I'm kind of disappointed that all of my friends ditched last minute and I didn't actually get to celebrate on my birthday... Kind of disappointed that I have to postpone the celebration when everyone was telling me to get excited for my bday months/weeks ahead of time. I don't expect my friends out of the city to come back to celebrate with me (even though some of them had suggested they'd do that), but I expected some friends in the city to at least have dinner with me. But, unfortunately, those who said they were available earlier this week all of a sudden had some things to do this evening. They canceled on me, and some didn't even bother to say happy birthday...

    I guess I'm just disappointed that this weekend didn't really play out the way I'd planned it. But I guess I can't put all the blame on them... exams are important and there is school tomorrow... Today is just another day in the grand scheme of things and there are more days for celebrations down the road. Probably shouldn't have such high expectations next time.

  • Had a pretty awesome weekend :)

    Friday I had dinner with Ant, Nelson, and Will Hum. Afterwards, we went to Ant's place and had a game night (our new addiction). Went to Queens for Cherry Valley in the middle of the night - very filling and satisfying, as always. Saturday, went to watch Rise of the Planet of the Apes with Ant and Nelson. The movie was pretty good! Much better than the first one that came out years ago. After the movie, we met up with Celery and YC for dinner in Ktown. Ashley and Sue Yee called us during dinner and convinced all of us to go to Sue Yee's Aunt's place in Queens for a sleepover. We played games over in Queens too :P Sunday, while I had my driving lesson around noon, the rest of the guys had lunch and picked me up afterwards. We drove to manhattan to pick up Celery from her doc's appointment in CT and then all went to karaoke in Duet 35. Had a quick dinner in Ktown again, before heading home.

    Today was a relaxing day at home, since I have stopped going to lab. Mostly packed and watched TV. I'm going on vacay with the family tomorrow to Yellowstone. Will be back by the 17th of August. Sad to see that summer's almost ending, but it's been pretty good so far, for sure.

  • lab, class/lab, lab, class/lab, lab

    my schedule monday through friday. sigh... at least I get to have fun on the weekends :)

    Yay Mavs won the NBA finals! Had a soiree at my place yesterday to watch the game. Saw a guy I haven't seen since elementary school, and saw Ant's Bing friends again. They're all pretty chill and it was fun. At least I hope it was, haha. There were 3 Heat fans amongst the 10 or so Maverick fans, so it was fun to rag on them during and after the game. :P

    I don't know for sure yet, but I might plan another get together at my house later during the summer. Most likely a weekend when Rich is back from his job in Philly. Nelson, Brian, and I also made an impromptu trip to Philly this past Friday into Saturday. Was fun, but was a shame we couldn't stay longer. Also, the cheesesteaks from Geno's and Pats (the famous touristy places) taste like cardboard. For good food, try Reading Market Terminal. The roast pork sandwiches from there are delectable.

    All right, should be getting back to work now. Just thought an update would be nice after an eventful weekend :)
